That’s at least what I can call it. Yesterday was a very special day for us…we got a little kitten!!! We’re at the U ten hours a day and we don’t want to leave Watson all by himself for such a long time every day (without mentioning the time we are going to spent on vacation in Germany). And since we finally got our landlord’s approval, we made this big step and went to the SLC animal shelter. Marc always wanted to have an orange cat (not always…but at least since he knows me and turned into a “cat person”) and I wanted to get a girl - and we were lucky. Among a whole group of orange males was one little girl waiting for us.
She’s a little orange tabby, 3 months old, and we named her Nori (short for Noriko).
She needed to get spayed before she could leave the shelter and so we had to wait until Monday afternoon to pick her up. Just imagine how nervous I was all day. ;) Nori is like a little bouncy ball, very playful and active. According to the vet she’s not allowed to run and jump and we should keep her calm for the 7-10 day. HELLOOO? How are we supposed to do that? We kept her in our sunroom for the last 24 hours and she jumped on the window board within the first few hours. Don’t ask me how she did that. She’s really tiny and it seemed completely out of reach. I thought removing the chair that used to stand there would be enough. But actually it wasn’t.
Anyway. We will just watch her suture closely and hope that everything will heal soon.
Watson hasn’t really met her yet. Of course he figured out that something’s going on and only food can get him away from the door right now. But we want to give her some time to adjust so Watson has to wait a little bit longer.

But at least he could see her already. At the bottom of the door is a gap and it was funny to see the two watching each other. I hope it’s a good sign that neither one of them hissed or growled. Let’s hope it stays like that! *peace*
*oooooooooooooooooooh!*
- step two in the “mittermeier-training” *grin*
I’m so happy for the two of you
I can imagine, how happy you are now
*hugs*
Ooooooh, wie süß.
Freut mich sehr, dass es doch noch geklappt, für Watson und für euch. Drück euch die Daumen, dass die beiden sich vertragen und euch viel Freude bereiten werden.
Einmal Katzen knuddeln
Danke
